Collaborative Author Book Project Policy

Effective date: 2023-2024  

Thank you for joining Sierra Melcher and Red Thread Publishing LLC., to become a published author. 

The Basics

  1. You are securing one of a limited number of author slots available in the Collaborative Author Book. 
  2. The price is $1,499 (USD) payable in full or with the payment plan: $500 deposit and then 2 more monthly payments of $500(USD).
  3. The agreement and the payment processing authorizations are the entire agreement between us. These written documents supersede our prior discussions, emails, online or voice messages. By signing, you agree that there is no information that you deem materially important that is not incorporated into this agreement. 


 

What Your Collaborative Author Book Program Includes:

  1. Access to the Author Academy Resource Vault including private recordings, workbooks and worksheets, and live sessions. 
    1. Writing Support
    2. Exclusive Author community access
    3. Guidance on how to write your chapter
    4. Guidance on how to position an offer for lead generation
    5. Guidance on how to position yourself as an expert
  2. Full publishing service: 
    1. professional editing 
    2. formatting  
    3. publication of your chapter in our Collaborative Author Titles. 
    4. marketing materials, training & support
  3. 6 months of Author Circle Group Coaching Sessions. Calls are held virtually via Zoom & recorded in the vault. Tuesdays (noon eastern). These group coaching calls are designed to support you as a writer with the emotional & logistical elements of telling your story. All group coaching calls will be recorded and will be uploaded into the private vault.
  4. Marketing materials & training to have your chapter & book reach #1
  5. Publication of your chapter in our book: Ebook & Print format

 

Right, Royalties & Deadlines:

Copyright ownership: 

  • The author retains the copyright rights to her chapter. Rights not specifically granted are reserved to the Author. 

Reasonable deadline.

  • The author agrees to submit her chapter to our editors by the deadline or forfeits her guarantee to be published. 

Royalties are NOT paid for Collaborative Author Projects

  • The author agrees to waive any claim on royalties. 

  • All proceeds from these books are allocated for our project: FTFAA (First-time Female author anthology) Brave New Voices. Read more about this initiative.

Additional Legal Terms

 

There is NO REFUNDS policy: By signing this agreement, you acknowledge that no one has represented to you that refunds are available. Even if you cannot participate for any reason, including decisions not to participate or changing your mind, you will continue to be billed according to the schedule in this agreement through the end of the term. The company considers this policy a material inducement to entering into this agreement, and would not have done so unless this no refunds policy were included. 

 

Disclaimer of Warranties: The participant understands the program is offered as an “as-is, where-is” basis, without any implied or express warranty as to its performance or to the results that may be obtained by using the program. This limited warranty is the only express warranty made to you and is provided in lieu of another warranty (if any) created by any documentation. 

 

If we Get Sued by Something You Did: You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the company, its affiliates, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, lawsuits, costs and expenses (including attorneys’ fees at all tribunal levels) arising out of or related to any activity, work, or other things done or permitted to be done by you where such liability arises from negligence on your part or the violation of this agreement. This includes any liability arising from a breach of confidentiality by any party. 

 

No Guarantee of Results; Risk of Loss: Results from the group program are greatly dependent upon individual decisions, abilities, and other factors outside the company’s control, and the company makes no guarantees or warranties that information provided to you through the program will provide specific results. 

 

Deleware Law Governs This Agreement and it will be enforced by either party in the United States: This agreement will be governed by US law, without regard to its conflicts of law principles. I understand and agree that I submit to the personal jurisdiction and venue of this province and agree that any legal proceeding commenced shall take place in Delaware. 

 

No Assignment; NO Oral Waivers or Modifications: This Agreement may not be assigned to any other party. Its requirements may not be waived or modified except in writing signed by the company. 

 

Electronic Signatures and Other Documents: You agree that your electronic signature is valid and binding evidence of your assent to the terms of this agreement. You agree to sign additional documents which may be necessary to complete the material purpose of this agreement, including without limitation, payment authorization. 

 

No Relationship: The parties hereto expressly understand and agree that they are not employers or employees, principals and agents, or partners or co-venturers in the performance of each and every part of this agreement, and they remain solely responsible for all of their respective employees and agents.
